SPEAKER
Mel Cossette has over 20+ years of experience in manufacturing education and has developed technician training programs for industry and educational institutions, including computer based training. She serves on various community based and college advisory committees; has worked in various businesses and industries; and has held administrative positions at several community and technical colleges.
- Mel currently serves as the Executive Director and Principal Investigator for the National Resource Center in Materials Technology Education (MatEd) and serves as a Co-PI on several NSF funded centers and projects.
- Mel also served as the Principal Investigator for the "Proven Practices for Recruiting Women to STEM Careers in ATE Programs". An Advanced Technological Education (ATE) special research project that studied what community colleges with ATE grants funded through the National Science Foundation (NSF) are currently doing to recruit women to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs.
