About The Speaker

Anita B. Walton serves as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and is responsible for Student Engagement and Leadership efforts within the Division. Walton has had a successful 24-year career in Higher Education in Student Affairs and Institutional Advancement. Walton has effectively created and managed a broad range of activities involving students, alumni and volunteers. Anita is best known for her ability to develop and create new and lasting engagement programs. She is an industry leader in the areas of Affinity Reunions, Young Alumni Engagement, Volunteer Management and Student Philanthropy.

  • She has served as a faculty member for numerous CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) International and District Conferences and has consistently earned the rank of Stellar Speaker and Faculty Star. She has led and served on teams recognized by CASE and CASE ASAP (CASE Affiliated Student Advancement Programs) earning more than 10 awards. She has also served on CASE's International Alumni Commission. She recently completed her tenure as the 2013-2015 Chair of CASE District III. CASE District III is comprised of nine states -- Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Alabama.
  • Walton is a past contributor to CURRENTS magazine and authored a feature article in the October 2011 issue, "The Leadership Ladder-How an alumni relations director built her leadership toolkit." Walton received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a master's degree in Education from North Carolina State University.
