John E. (Jack) Collins- Dr. Collins has served as Director of University Housing for 35 years at three institutions: John Carroll University, Cleveland, Ohio; Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana; and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 1998. He has a broad range of experience at a variety of institutions both large and small, public and private, urban, suburban, and rural locations.
- He is active in a variety of professional organizations including ACPA, NASPA, and ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers-International), serving as President from 2003-2004.
- In his role as Director of University Housing at the University of Illinois, Dr. Collins is responsible for a number of departments and services including Administration, Business and Technology Services, Dining Services, Family and Graduate Housing, Housing Facilities, Marketing, Private Certified Housing, and Residential Life.
- The Housing Division employs 650 academic employee and support staff (full time and extra help) and 1,300 student employees.
- Jack received his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Kent State University and his M.Ed. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University.
